Create Escher-Type Tiling

To create my own Escher-type tesselation I have utilizedd  the free online Tessellation Makersoftware offered by shodor.org

Step 1

Start with a square

Step 2

Create any segement joining the two vertices on the left hand-side of the square and translate to the right side of the figure the broken line as shown

Step 3

Join the the two downward vertices of the square with any other segment and translate upward  the broken line as shown

The base tile for the patterns looks like this

If translating the tile over the plane forms our pattern bassed on a regular square tesselation
